Conservative run Dacorum Borough Council has had another scathing report from the auditors regarding its accounts.
In the draft audit report presented to committee in December, the District Auditor, Debbie Hanson, recorded six weaknesses and concluded
"I am not satisfied that, in all significant respects, Dacorum Borough Council made proper arrangements to secure economy, efficiency and effectiveness in its use of resources…"
She also listed a list of inadequacies including:
Cllr Christopher Townsend said despite putting an emphasis on getting financial management under control the Conservatives are failing to improve the council's ability to look after its money. They must tighten up in this area and make sure that the council has full control over its finances. If not tax payers can no longer be sure that they are getting value for money from their council."
