Hemel's Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate today expressed grave concern over Labour's campaign of misinformation on the Hemel birthing centre. He said:

"I want local people to be clear on the facts about the hard work the Lib Dems have done to get the birthing centre reopened. FACT: Hemel Lib Dem councillors opposed the closure of the Birthing Unit and have spoken out in favour of re-opening it to serve the mothers of Hemel Hempstead. FACT: I have been part of Dacorum Hospital Action Group for years and have fought against reductions in services every step of the way. In January, I called on the panel which recommended keeping the birthing unit closed to reconsider, and highlighted key areas where the enquiry had gone wrong."

"It is disappointing that Labour has stooped to gutter politics in their desperate bid to save face in the current Adeyfield West by-election."
